Trying to Cancel Mirror Sub

I have a Sky + subscription with Sky Sports World and a mirror sub for my second digibox, both of which I got installed in March. I'm paying 15euro a month for the mirror sub so have decided I'm happy with just the free to air channels on the second box. However on contacting Sky today to cancel the mirror sub they are saying I have to keep the mirror sub for a min of 12months. I checked my contract and can't find anything about having to keep the mirror sub for 12months it only states I need to have a sky subscription for 12 months which I will keep on my Sky + box. So what I'm wondering does anyone know if this is correct that I have to keep the mirror sub for 12 months, or has anyone successfully cancelled a mirror sub within the first 12 months and if so how ? The guy I was talking to on the phone gave me an address I could write to to complain but I'm wondering if I would be just wasting my time.

Also up until today I had the top Sky World package but now changed it to just Sky Sports World. This change was effective almost immediately on my Sky + box but when I called them I had the second box with the mirror sub powered off and when I just checked it Sky Movies is still available on this. Does anyone no how often they send the signal to update the card and how long I can expect to have the movies for?

When I got my SKy+ I was going to get a 2nd sub, but just to make sure, I asked did I have to keep it for 12 months & they said yes, so I just got sky+ box.
