Monitor Advise

Looking at getting a better monitor. I have a syncmaster 957p which is okay but the refresh rate is poor at 1600x1200 and not particularly great at 1280x960 either.

I'm looking for a 19" - 21" crt. Looking for a monitor with an excellent refresh rate at least up 1600x1200. Nothing insanely priced.

    Any recommendations?

Do you mind if i ask you what TFT you are getting CombatCrow?

    Hey Azza,

How about this....maybe a bit expensive tho! Refreshs 110Hz at 1600x1200.

    I will consider it :)

    I might have other options.

If it handles 1600x1200 with no visible indication of that desorting line affect then it will go into the serious consideration category.

that iiyama 22" 514pro is a great looking monitor, very tempting, but i reckon it must would weight about 50 kilos and would squash my desktop case

    i have a puney 19" 454pro version, but it does a great job for games at 1600x1200 @ 100hz

im really waiting for a good tft like that 20" viewsonic, to fall within my price range (cheap)

I'll second the quality of the Hansol 920D model. I've had one since 2001 and they're great monitors and probably unbeaten for the price, so much so that friends have bought 5 more on my recommendation.

As for the Iiyama, they probably make the best hight end CRT's on the planet. At some stage - when my bank account looks healthier - I'll drag out my credit card and buy one. I don't think Micro Warehouse ship outside the UK tho.
