Have Sky digital in the house, all was working grand untill last weekend, tried to watch MTV ( ch 440 ) and it's a no go, then tried mtv2 and go the same, basically it's the same for all the channels that MTV own.

So sunday evening i call SKY, and we go through the usual tripe dat i've done already my self, and know wont probabally solve the issue, this included removing the scart cable and " tapping " it against my hand ???

Eventually i'm told i have a problem with my transponder and it needs to be fixed by an engineer ( dats fecking 75 euro im told also)

all i want to know is has this happened n e body b4 and if so how can i get it fixed, or who can i call to fix it.

I like down in Rathfarnham, just so you know im dub based

Thanks in advance for the help folks

The CS rep must have thought you had very very long arms.

Poor use of words from them, but if they meant "oh yeah, there's a problem with your equipment but looks like you've fixed it" then they may well be correct.

Ok firstly transponder is on the satellite so if its not working nobody gets a picture. Your problem could be caused by either dish cable or receiver, only a spectrum analyser can nail it down unless you can swop out the receiver with one that is known to work.

    good luck
