real time dvd recording

i got my new dvd writer 2 weeks ago an 8x +/-r dual layer writer and so far its working great. I was thinking of putting my old 2x one into my htpc and using it to record stuff onto, does any1 know of any software that will allow me t do this i.e preess record and record straight onto the dvd, the source would be a tv card…
