Whats the best program to use?

I used Nero Back it up and i have to admit it was totally totally ****. Took a day to do and the crap was compressed in some weird special format. Basically awkward as hell.

I use a great yet simple program called "DVDcopy" from Medion. Its very basic and all u'll get a browser and a space to put data. It copies ANY files as they are onto the DVD, it works with any DVD RAM!
Easy CD Creator 6.0 and Nero could not feature this!!! As i always say the simpler the better. (in most cases)

Just burn the files to disk as per normal, then use "whereisit" to make a little archive of where each file is. Then, if you're looking for something, just search for it in "Whereisit" and it'll tell ya what disc it was on.

use nero and select dvd iso as the format then just drag the files you want to back up into the window until you have a dvd full . repeat as necessary

    ^what they said.

Using Back It Up will, as you've noticed, compress it in some "weird special format". Handy if you're backing up a whole drive and won't ever want anything from that backup without going through the restore process. Absolutely useless if you'll be using the files from the DVD/CD.

Did you tell Nero to save it as data? It can screw things up by saving it as video or something else.
