Just wondering if this TV Station is Licenced by the BCI.

You will have noticed that the BCI are currently looking for

Local, Sat, and Cable TV licences.

But is Satanta Regulated by the Regulator?

will it be broadcast from this country or from the UK?

It's a satellite broadcaster so isn't bound by BCI rules and regs, however it is subject to the British equivalent as it's sourced from there just like Sky.

What about the Setanta Sport channel on NTL Basic package? Surely this will be regulated by BCI?

Common Questions on Cable and MMDS services

What if my complaint relates to Satellite services?

There are a number of operators who provide television by satellite such as the Sky Digital service. It should be noted that currently where broadcasting services are not originated in Ireland then any content regulation is the responsibility of the country of origin. The UK’s Independent Television Commission licenses and regulates Sky’s programme channels such as Sky One, Sky Sports etc and regulates the advertising carried on those channels, however they are not responsible for consumer complaints.

Satanta HQ is in Dublin. And they plan to broadcast from here, Niall Quigley from RTE Sport has jump ship to Satanta

TV3 is the only licence so far.
