Have any of you guys dealt with this guy www.raydohertycases.com ?

Mofo quoted me 300 yoyos for a Telecaster case !

I guess they're good quality, custom-made cases but still....

    what do you guys think?

What are you going to be putting it through? ie. are you going to be gigging regularly? flying abroad? chucking it in the back of a van with the rest of the gear?

Also, what model telecaster is it? It would be a bit much to spend €300 on a guitar woth €600.

I think it'll be worth it in the long run if you own a very expensive tele and are going to be working a lot with it. Otherwise €100 should do you grand for a Hard case. Personally, for general transport (practice, bringing on bus etc) I find a gig bag with shoulder-straps to be much more handy, it leaves your handsa free to carry small combo and f.x. for example.

Go with the choice that makes sense to you, however there are litterally hundreds of tele cases out there so I think the custom built route you are talking about is a bit unneccessary.

Yea it may be a bit unnecessary - it was just an idea, i didnt know it would cost that much.
Eventually i'd like a nice custom made case - the Tele that i have is an expensive vintage. I still play it, but i dont have the original case for it. My case is slightly bigger and even though i improvised and insulated it somehow, AerLingus still managed to crack my pickguard.

I have only myself to blame, so next time i need to travel with my guitar (which i dont do very often at all) i want to have the best case possible.

Of course a standard tele case will do the job too...

    (It's a 1972 Fender Thinline Telecaster).

I have a Hiscox case for my Eggle, it's top quality. Might be a step up from what you have currently? €300 is just a little bit steep IMO.

Got it with the guitar, but of all the cases I have seen, Ric, Fender, Gibson, Ibanez etc - it's the one I trust the most.

    They have stockists here...
