    Derry 0-10 Limerick 0-7
    Fermanagh 1-10 Donegal 0-12 (AET)
    Westmeath 0-12 Laois 0-10

Before these matches I was predicting, Derry, Donegal and Westmeath Laois to be very close with perhaps Westmeath taking it.

First off, a big congrats to Westmeath, their first Leinster title. Welcome to the big time and best of luck for the future. Dont over-celebrate and if you get drawn against Mayo you may give them a bit f a run. Well done. I saw some of the game and from what I saw and the reports it looked as if Westmeath deserved their victory. Laois got it last year so its good to see the success flowing around the counties. That has to be good for the game.

The Donegal/Fermanagh match was a rough match by all accounts. Donegal's troubles from during the week carried into the match, at least affecting McFadden although they had a good start and were the better team during the 70 mins. They let their heads get the better of them and had two men sent-off (finishing with 14 players on the pitch in extra time). Brian Roper had a chance to win it at the end of the 70 mins but it barely went wide. And Donegal had loads of wides durig the match. Not a good end to Donegal's season. Some credit is due to Fermanagh, who kept themselves in the game and fought well and managed to get the couple of scores that were enough in the extra time. Only 16,000 at the match in Clones. Overall though, Donegal lost this match more than anything else. That will probably mean McEniff retiring again, maybe Mulgrew for the job next year?

I only heard bits of the Derry/Limerick match on the radio. It sounded as if Derry were always slightly better in the first half and then were in much more control in the second. It proved too much for Limerick after their gargantuan efforts against Kerry who didnt have any fight at the end as the writing was on the wall.

Both Derry and Fermanagh are surprises in the last 8, and are not in the same league as Armagh/Tyrone. Ulster continues to dominate with 4 out of the 8 teams and it will be interesting to see what the draw throws up and how many Ulster teams make it to the last 4. My money is still on Armagh to win.

9 teams left now, it will be 8 when Dublin beat Rosscommon ....

    There are 10 teams left:

4 Ulster: Armagh, Tyrone, Derry and Fermanagh
3 Leinster: Westmeath. Laois and Dublin
    2 Connacht: Mayo and Roscommon

yeah, 10 teams. Laois v Tyrone was the one I forgot to count. I reckon Tyrone should win that, although Tyrone are not as good as they were last year and are beatable.

Well done to Westmeath - there were probably plenty of loose women in Bozo's last night!
