change from pulse to tone dialing, try dialing properties or something like that

you must be able to connect as you`ve posted so i`d guess its set for pulse dialing.

tone dialing is also known as DTMF

    rgds
    eirlink

Yep thats what was wrong. Thanks for the help.

I have one more problem which im just after noticing. The keys that have the @ sign and " sign seem to have reversed.Even though the @ sign is on the key near the L it comes up as " and the key with the 2 and the " create the @ sign??? Whats up with this? ( if i have described this badly sorry lol )

go to language settings (in control panel) and use the American style keyboard, or British style (or irish style if you want to :P)

One of those will set the @ sign to the place you want it to be. Those two symbols switch around between american layout and british/irish layout.

just because you can dial up to the internet does not mean that pulse dialing is enabled. tone dialing still works.

leave the irish keyboard settings on, and remove the american/british ones. this might require a restart
