    hi people,

    Basically my question is this,

Can i recieve freeview on either an old sky digibox or a new non sky reciever, in ireland, if this is possible could you guys give me a website address or contact details on where to go about getting it. Also if i can get freeview on satellite in Ireland could i get the top-up tv added on it ?

I know i can get the free bbc channels and all the other free channels eg. euronews and the home shopping channels. plus the free radio stations

Any help or reply i get will be greatly appreciated,

    Regards netwhizkid

You seem to be mixed up between "freeview" (a digital terrestrial service) and the BBC having gone free to air on satellite.

Using a Sky box you can't pick up the former. With a Sky box without a card you can receive (as you've mentioned) thr BBC channels and the other free to air channels. There's no "top up TV" service on satellite.

To receive the BBC channels and other FTA channels on satellite you need a Sky digibox or an FTA box (see www.satellite.ie or any of the shops mentioned in the sticky at the top of the page for examples) and a dish pointed to 28.2E.

In certain parts of the country you can receive the actual freeview service (requiring an entirely different kind of box) but this depends on where you live.
