    Hi,

I recently bought an iPod from america. Im having a problem with it and am hoping someone can help me!

When I charge it, it comes up saying fully charged but then when I turn it on the battery is only half full. I was told that I didnt need a power converter for the American plug but Im thinking this might have somehting to do with it.

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks,

    Fearo.

hi i had a similar problem with mine i upgraded the ipod software and its perfect again, just make sure you have your music backed up as the update completely wipes the ipod. If that doesn't solve the problem apples warranty is worldwide.

    software update http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

also if the ipod hasn't been used for a while the battery may need to be reconditioned ie charged and then fully discharged a couple of times

forgot to mention there are different software updates depending on the ipod generation 2.2 is for the 3rd gen ipod, 3.0 for the new click wheel ipod

i have this problem too. if you haven't already upgraded you could try reseting it. i haven't done anything yet but the apple man said to try (otherwise upgrade)

it is not related to the power converting. ipod works on 100-258 v. i have as well an US ipod, and have switched several times between US and several EU countries. works still fine.

apart from the charge indicator - how many hours do you get of it?

I had, or thought I had, that problem as well. However, tk123 is right. The problem seems to be with the power indicator rather than the battery itself. Just charge it up and start using it. It should be okay, and the indicator should fix itself (it's not terribly reliable though).

And my one is from the US as well (no fcuking way I'm paying Irish prices!)

Amen to that - i got mine a year ago in the US and it's STILL cheaper than getting one here!!
