Dose anyone know where i can get some free web space? Eircom offers some free web space but are there restriction on where you can view it from, like only from Ireland. I have built several “Fan sites” since the summer started and would now like to publish some of them, just to see what other people think.

    www.doteasy.com

It's not quite free but its a cheap way of doing a website. US$25.00 (around 20euro)for a domain and 20mb hosting. I use it sometimes if a friend just wants a cheap site put up... Never had a problem with them.

  • Depends on what you need...ftp, php or what etc....for example www.webspace4free.biz offers 200mb AFAIK, no ads, but theres no ftp upload...just by webform, which is a nightmare if you've loads of gifs etc.

Chromehost.com are good but their signup procedure is a little vague and its in two parts....you'll need a free domain from uni.cc and then signup with chromehost for hosting with the domain.

Its all free however with ftp uploading, 50mb space, 500mb b/w, Php, cPanel etc...

If you can post a list of requirements then it can help narrow things down....

Very aggressive inappropriate reply for a simple mistake. You may have issues.

My god, thats pretty cheeky of eircom. I haven't heard of any other free web space provider doin that sort of thing to their customers.

At the moment im with geocities, its pretty good but with 15megs restricted enough (its enough if u don't have too many pics and files). The site and file manager is great and they also offer an ftp upload.

Im gonna get my own server soonish though, then i have 100gigs of space and 500gigs of traffic a month :)

if your happy to live with a sub domain site than http://dhost.tk is great

    - 100MB webspace
    - 300GB bandwidth/month
    - full FTP access
    - php + mysql
    - you're allowed to have downloads
    - popup ads (or google ads on request)
    - more bandwidth or space on request

    you get http://dhost.info/username

the google ads are the best bit

and because its got php you can use stuff like this and this or this

u can get good webspace and e-mail addresses at www.siteground.com
for just $58 u get domain name and webspace.

The best free provider is www.hostrocket.com.

Is there pop up adds on eircom.net??

    Hostrocket has free hosting now?
http://www.1t3.com is extremly cheap, but customer support is a big massive joke. It took me about 8 months to cancel. Now that I think of it, I should really have pressed charges.

Best hosting for value I know of is http://www.fuitadnet.com , which is where I get my own hosting. Highly reccomended.
