Yeah, I bought this for a laugh.
Not bad at all, it's by no means a sim - but it's a good arcadey racer, some nice tracks.

What's this about starforce ? and why is it bad ?

yea i have it, its good fun but does attract rammers & backwards drivers. I hate being in the lead going into the first corner, you just know your going to get wacked up the ar$e by someone

the single player mode is bad. the rally sectoins are bad. but online its brilliant. by far the best racing game on xbox live.

This is a bloody good game, appart from the rally driving bit that was crap. The single player part is interesting if a little frustrating e.g. on the last lap in first place and skid out so the whole field zooms by. Plus I would love to kill the Scottish guy.
Overall, a good solid game and worth the money. It's not for those that are expecting a pure racing sim though.

I have this game a while now for my Xbox, its a good game although i'd agree that the rally sections are infuriating.

I'm only about 40% through the single player game and its good, but some of the cars, are very twitchy, like last night i was playing a race with lamborginis and boy it was very twitchy.

Little bit too much power or brake and the car would spin like a spinning top this happened to me twice on the last corner of the race in 1st place, needless to say i persisted and passed this section and went onto DTM racing where the cars are really fast and stick to the track much better.

Online play on Xbox Live though is great fun.

I think there is a hack/cheat that enables you to race any car on any of the circuits, xbox only
Keep an eye out.

I've been playing this for a while and really like it. It plays better than Project Gotham 2, although the handling isn't as spot on. It's one of the best racing sims I've played, although they still haven't managed to correctly simulate brake & steer, and you can just go into a corner and take out another car in order to increase your standings.

Also...
- other cars make mistakes too, but rarely
- the AI is a little too predictable and doesn't allow other cars to brake later, deviate from the racing line or drive defensivly.
- the rally stages are poorly done
- there is no real alternative from the 'Story' mode

But...
-The variety of vehicles and their different handling characteristics are very good, and the 'story', although occasionally infuriating makes the races a little more interesting (wait for the bit when the black French guy goes cracked 'mais c'est pas possible ca, c'est pas vrai dans cette bordell').

I would recommend this as a weeks rental from Xtravision, but not a purchase

i found pgr2 to be the best racing game

the handling is excellent and the single player is pretty hard to finish (yes i did finish it )

cant stop playin it. often stayed up till early hours when i shouldve been sleeping

i did play the first toca but didnt like the twitchy handling and it doesnt sound like trd2 is better

has anybody found RD2 not running after getting rid of starforce?

got the game yday, and first thing I did after installing it was run the starforce delete thingy from codemasters.

everytime I went to run toca, it asked me to restart to complete installation.

It will not allow you to play the game with the copy protection. That means its doing its job.


If you want to play it you will have to leave starforce on your pc.

bah!toca race driver2 is ****e in every aspect,i cant belive someone said its class on xbox live,no its not!Its just utter rubbish if you want a good racing game play either of these Project Gotham Racing 2 (XBOX ONLY) AND Burnout 3 (XBOX & PS2)
