    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/External_Hard_Drives.html

There is bundled software with this called Dantz Retrospect Express.
The Dantz site [apart from being very very slow] does not give any info on the software.

Basically i need to know what you can do with the software,
ie. is there a rollback function and Disaster Recovery, etc...

    all help appreciated,
    dave

It's just a basic backup program. The comparison between Express and the others is here:

    thanx for the link.

it says the OEM doen't allow 'single local area network' backups,
but do you reckon that you could backup mapped network drives?
i can't see that it would be a problem???

i see it has the disaster recovery, but rollbacks is even more important for what i need. [small office situation]
obviously a rotating tape jobbie with grandfather-father-son backups would be the most stable,

but can you simulate this type of backup by using an external hard drive,
and partitioning it into 20 or so particians?
