UK airports authority taking Ryanair to court
    21 July 2004 21:50

The British Airports Authority has said it will be issuing proceedings in the High Court in London tomorrow against Ryanair for non-payment of approximately £1 million in landing charges.

The BAA added that because Ryanair had repudiated its contract with the airport the airline would now no longer benefit from the discounted charges it currently receives.

A Ryanair spokesman said the airline would be issuing its own proceedings against the BAA for overcharging on fuel levies at Stansted over a 12-year period.

Ryanair said its agreement with the BAA on landing charges was very specific and expires in 2007.
