Ahh the aul back plate...it just stuck on to the mobo ...just use a hair dryer to soften up the glue and try and leaver it off with a credit card...;)

**This has worked fine for other ppl...dont blame me if you damage ur mobo...just take care**

All you ever wanted to know about the neo platinum :

    I have done just that.

I got a harddryer to heat up the backplate, lifted one corner with a pair of plyers (being very careful not to touch the mobo itself) and oushed a credit card under. I then wiggled the credit card further and further in while continually pulling on the back plate.

It came off eventually, just bevery careful u dont scrape the motherboard with the pliers if u use em.
