I don't know if many people would be interested but the Dirty Three are playing not one but two gigs next week, both as support slots to Mozaik. They're playing Vicar St. on Monday and the Village on Tuesday. €20 for either night. Anyone with an ounce of musical sense should see them once, they're an instrumental band consisting of violin, guitar and drums and sound kind of like a spaghetti western soundtrack by Ennio Morricone played through just a little bit of distortion. And their drummer is very cool, doesn't sound like he's listening to the other two guys at all but it works.

Yeah the Tuesday gig got moved so I couldn't go to that one. Monday night was fantastic even though it was only a shortish set. They played requests for most of it (but none of mine  ) and gave it socks. And yes they are Austrailian.

They played that one. They also did 1000 Miles, Alice Wading and another couple that I can't remember the names of right now.
