anyone ever see Fergus Tighe#s Clash Of The Ash from 1987
William Heffernan (Blackie Connors from Glenroe) and that bloke who plays Roy in Fair City

very good film about life in rural Ireland - the hurling scenes are great and the smalltown vibe is captured perfectly

Actually I think RTE repeated it last Summer, although it was broadcast at 1 am or something. I remember it from the first time round. I loved the use of the "go on ya gurrier" all the time.:D

I loved this program/film when it was shown, had it on video for a long time,

Some great catchphrases (well I spiel them out all the time)

"There'll be no job in the bank for you"

    "Fanning played their demo"

    "three shakes is a ****"

    "who said second mass"

    "you've enough until tuesday"

Classic tale of small town ireland before the celtic tigers roar, where the bright lights of London called out to everyone who didn't want to turn into their Dad, And London seemed so far away then, now it closer than the local centra
