    Has anyone here tried smsBug?

According to the website texts only cost 0.03 EUR and it supports the three Irish networks. You only need Java MIDP 1.0 and GPRS support.

Nice idea if you keep your GPRS connection open.

With Vodafone, there is a minimum charge of 10kb per GPRS connection. Therefore at 2c per kb, its as expensive as regular SMS.

    Try this one: http://www.fishtext.com

Am on Voda PAYG and it's hardly doing anything to my credit. Saving me a bundle on txts :D

    Best app I've found yet!

smsbug 3cents, mobiSMS 2.8c, fishtext 2c, vyke 1.65c, cabbage mobile and aft FREE..

It just keeps getting cheaper. But it's good to have a paid-for alternative when the free web texts are down ;)

EDIT: just tried the Fishtext midlet, and it works really well. smsbug is good, mobisms attaches their ads in the end of sms's even if you pay for the messages, vyke is not reliable and some texts are not delivered.. so my advice is : fishtext or cabbage/aft :)

Even if this member posting information about Fishtext just joined yesterday, fishtext seems great, and they even do half price texts if you topup before Aug 1st.. so 1c texts to Ireland and many other countries. *end of ad break*
