You could try and train with John Kavanagh who teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Vale Tudo (as well as providing Muay Thai and Wrestling instructors) in Harolds Cross.

    www.irishbjj.com

Otherwise Id try Colm O'Reilly. He posts here and has a website www.twokingsmma.net

Colm is probably the best instructor ive ever trained with. Well worth a visit.

There is one in Raheny Village. You can get the dart out to it.

Run by Richard Tigue Neil McCullagh.

No built up plenty of callousing on my knees from years of pointless Japanese Traditional Martial Arts rituals, asslicking not included, encouraged by people that think you have to emulate japanese masters to be credible (see Aikido, Karate, traditional Jiu Jitsu etc.)

Training with Colm I learnt more in my first 2 months than I did in my first 2 years of TMAs. He listens to criticisms (and adjusts his teaching accordingly) and always answers questions honestly (if he doesnt know he doesnt know). Ive never known many MA instructors to be like that. If you have an issue with something Colm teaches he'll make sure your satisfied with his reasoning rather than some BS "Cause Im the Sensei" dismissal.

Considering the amount of abuse I throw at Riley off the mat, its unlikely that Id be
    licking his ass. :D

    Thanks for the recommedations guys.

    Petals,

There's a map on www.twokingsmma.net with directions and different buses to get out to SBG Tallaght. It would be cool if you could come out as the club is just going great at the moment, we've a great bunch of guys training hard, having fun and building a great environment that I look forward to all week.

    Peace Out,

    Colm

any ju jitsu clubs in waterford?
I read an article in the local paper a while back advertising a ju jitsu demonstrations/promotion here, but not sure if it was in conjunction with a local club.

For clubs in Waterford email: aikidoucd@yahoo.co.uk!

Ciaran Brennan, the UCD Aikido Club captain, has been training traditional JJ in waterford for years and will put you in touch with someone. Tell him Colum sent you and hope he wont hold it against you!! :D

if it's any help there's jujitsu in maynooth, it used to be on a monday night for two hours in the college, not sure if the times have changed but you could probably find out by ringing the college :)

Petals is already a member of the ju-jitsu club out in Maynooth. She may just be looking for some extra sessions. :)

I used to train in bjj in Kildare with Mick Aldridge, but he trains in Newbridge and Athy, so it might be a little bit out of the way

A bit late seeing as how you're banned, but there's a Ju-Jitsu club in Waterpark school in Waterford. Training's every Monday and Thursday from 7.30pm onward.

    Hi there,

There are classes in Drumcondra for Ju-Jitsu. They are:

    Tuesday 6-8 and 8-10,
    Thursday 8-10,
    Saturday 2-4.

The club can be a bit hard to find, but feel free to pop down - I came from the Maynooth Ji-Jitsu club as well!

First off you came from maynooth as well--who are you?

And thanks for those times much appreciated. :D
Is it the dojo on those maps that were posted up already.

Yep - same Dojo. It has been awhile since I trained out in Maynooth, nearly three years! Once I graduated I started training in Drumcondra. I train in Judo (not so much these days) out in Maynooth from time to time also.

Pop down on Sat if ya get a chance and see what you think. The more the merrier!

Any chance of an address / directions / map to the Drumcondra dojo? I used to go there ( a couple of years ago) but I know someone wanting to take up ju jitsu over here, and that one would be great from him (he's living in the city center).

Saturday isn't good. Can beginners go on Tuesday and Thursday?
Also when would be the best time to start?
