Should i buy a top wattage speaker system,400 upwards....
Or is it needless because i am buying an Amplifier/Receiver?.

Would a cheap 125W speaker system be ok?

    It would save money:)

Amplifiers VS home cinema Speaker packages

Can you have speakers without an amp,and still get great sound???>

The general rule here I think is to listen ! Ignore the specs and price tags and just listen. If the 99 quid amp sounds better than the 399 one then great - buy it and enjoy it. Same with speakers or any component you buy.

    I wouldn't have thought so !!

Could someone explain to me,the difference?

    A 500W surround speaker system
    A 300W output power receiver

    Isn't a receiver needless,for a small room?

Do you need a receiver to get surround sound on tv programmes?.
