I have an old hauppauge card that i got free of a friend. I can't get the thing to capture ANYTHING. The provided software has confused me, and basically all i can get is a blue screen.

    Can anyone recommend something better?

EDIT: i'm following my own advice . Lets see if this helps :p

If its just a regular Hauppauge TV card you could try either VirtualDub or VirtualVCR for capturing.

neither are working :( i have the 878 chipset.

    I'm really baffled about this.

Make sure the correct drivers are installed for a start. If your running xp there is a exe you can run and then windows will take care of everything else after a reboot AFAIK

Here are all the details i have...

    Model Number: 61324 Rev D108
    BT878KHF (whatever that is).

Its a WinTV PCI card (as far as i know).

What drivers should i be installing, and what program should i be using for capturing. I can't get the SVideo thing to capture (and am unable to test the TV cable connection at the moment).

Here's all i can get to appear on my screen... its a bit better than a blue screen...

Make sure you have the correct video source selected and make sure the software know which card you are using, some software may think its a different Hauppauge card
