    i dont know if this has come up before or not but you know the ad for uncle bens where the old boy cooks dinner for his missus in the time it takes her to climb the stairs to their appartment?

    is that this guy? to the right of tony.... he plays hesh rabkin.

    It definitely looks like him. But it would be very rare for an ad filmed in the US (as I presume this would have to be) to be shown in Europe. I did a bit of googling and found this thread which identifies him as the Dad in 'Raising Dad' which turns out be Jerry Adler.

    Why would it have to be filmed over there? Lots of ads are shown over here with American actors.

    It *is* the same guy.

    Don't think it is that common - I know Smithwicks got Norm from Cheers over for their ads, but I cant think of any other examples. Any suggestions?

    He's mainly a Broadway actor, director & producer - that's why his screen acting credits are so few...

    Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Love Hewitt both have shampoo ads. Other actresses tend to do beauty crap too. Sarah Jessica Parker did a soap ad too I think.

    True - but I wouldn't put them in the same category. In those cases, the ads are absolutely trading off the 'celebrity' of the star. This one was kind-of different - low-key with a C-list celebrity.
