Geez, two of the main stars, what are they doing?

George Eads - the other star that they claim may be sacked - Nick Stokes on CSI

    From news section of csifiles.com

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation cast members Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) and George Eads (Nick Stokes) were sacked from the series this week after CBS took a hard-line stance during a pay dispute.

Network sources today told trade paper Variety that Fox, Eads and fellow supporting actors Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) and Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass) were "all offered minor raises in exchange for more airtime in a take-it-or-leave-it scenario". The actors were reportedly earning approximately $100,000 per episode but were negotiating for larger salaries.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS asked all cast members to write a letter confirming that they would report to the set on Thursday, the scheduled first day of filming for the season premiere, "Viva Las Vegas". In the past the network has had problems with actors calling in sick in order to give themselves leverage in pay disputes, as several Everybody Loves Raymond cast members did last year.

Fox, despite earlier reports claiming she turned up to the set on Thursday (story), was sacked on Wednesday night after reportedly failing to send in her letter. Eads, who is also said not to have turned in his letter, reportedly turned up to work late on Thursday only to be fired. However, according to Variety sources, Fox did return her letter and "was surprised and mystified when she was fired". Sources close to Eads told the Hollywood Reporter that he too had sent his letter into CBS.

Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and William Petersen (Gil Grissom) are also looking for bigger paychecks, according to Variety. Both actors failed to report to the CSI set yesterday, but "but for health reasons industry insiders said were legit", the trade paper said. Helgenberger reportedly earns $200,000 per episode, while Petersen is said to pull in $500,000.

Jaysus, two is really bad! They'll have to sort that out pretty quickly I imagine. It's bad publicity for the franchise, especially with CSI: New York kicking off in a few months.

If they did send back letters confirming they'd be there then surely CBS could be in deep sh1te? You would imagine that actors would pass that sort of thing onto agents or PAs.

Maybe these 2 could be replaced with characters with more personality.

There is no fear of these 2 actors with all the experience they have got of investigating crime scenes.

No great loss IMO, a good opportunity to get some better characters played by better actors. The 3 junior investigators in that show were all lousy characters, they should get rid of Dourdan while they are at it. The other three are at least interesting and are good actors as well.

ah thats just crap. sara was one of the stronger characters and had a good relationship in terms of the whole group dynamic. grisim acting as a father figure/ role model to her. there was a lot of room for her character to grow. not too pushed on nick, never really liked him. the show will really go downhill if they stick with this.

re-casting the characters would damage the show, put people off i think after they have gotten used to the characters, to see other actors play them.
we all know how re-casting pippa ruined home and away's credability :D

and if they introduce new characters to replace them it will leave the problem of what happened to nick and sara? too many plot holes all at once. maybe if they brought them back to film death sequences.

It is a good show and that Jorja Fox is the best looker in it! She doesn't get much screen time, so maybe that is what the pay dispute originated from. It would be a pity to lose some of the actors from the show. It is always hard to replace regulars like that. Hopefully they'll settle it.
