any help problem in excel certian buttons are greyed out for instance under format the cells button is greyed out, but if you right click on a spreadsheet the format cells button works any ideas?

Are you actually inputting data into a cell at the time? If you start typing something into a cell, and then go up to the menu without moving off that cell, certain options are greyed out

nope its greyed out all the time no matter what you do....
