Bugs!! It's gotta be the bugs, although seeing the Tau in action would be kinda cool too.

Expansion pack? Excellent, they won't be doing the GW usual and releasing new armies through completely "different" full price games.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Tyranids in there. There's been far too much focus on Necrons lately, and I'm getting sick of it.

Also, an acquaintance claims to have played a beta version, and asserts that it "like totally rox0rz" in no small way. I am pleased.

No, I think I remember reading that orks had green skin due to a green pigment in their blood.

Red blood looks better against green skin.

If you painted green blood, it would look like the space bitche$ exchanged bolter rounds for gooseberries.

Orks have green skin because they are ultimately plants afaik. and as you may quite possably have guessed, most plants are green :) I would guess its the chloroplasts in the skin or something. (well more technically their fungus, but, close enough)

AFAIK, the origins of the Orks were detailed in Gorkamorka, although I've not seen any of the material from the game so can't rightly say.

    Yes. Yes, it does. :D

I'm surprised to see the Necrons with so much of a lead in that poll though. I would think in an expansion that IG would have been one of the choices, rather than Dark Eldar. The other choices I'd agree with. Tau would be a lot of fun.

    Eldar.

If only for the Avatar and hoardes of Saim-Hann Wildrider Jetbikes and Vypers screaming over the hills like a red sea of chainsword death.....

Possibly because the Eldar have already been revealed as the 4th race in the game anyway?

    Take THAT your opinion!

Red, apparently. The green is just a flesh pigment. There was an article somewhere mentioning this.

It does not, however, stop all the writers popping in spurts of green ichor whenever someone shoots an Ork.

I think they changed it, as there was certainly mention of green blood in the early edition Codecies (Codexes?) I prefer the green blood myself.

And Orks have pretty regular humanoid DNA, but there's a third fungoid strand meshed into the double helix in a "confusing" way, that supplies the differences and genetic memory/knowledge traits...

Tyranids were in the lead with like 56% last time I checked, how can they be down to just 4% of the votes now? Poll musta been restarted or something.

Developers: Crap! We can't handle Tyranids! Let's rig the poll so we get something easy to draw!

    Enter the Necrons baby!

But Necrons are dull. There's really no character to the army, unless you count the C'tan, and who in their right mind would do that? Friggin' space undead, if they wanted to make 40K a mirror image of fantasy they could have at least put in a more flexible vampire lord style Necron leader instead of those overbloated pieces of crap...

'Nids, on the other hand, have character, a real certain something.

But I really would like to see the Imperial Guard. They ARE the most common (non-Ork :) )force in the universe, after all, and they do all the real fighting, not those Marine boys...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,136 ✭✭✭Pugsley

Id be more or less in agreement with Sarky, Necrons are a very, very boring race, and not to mention they only have about a dozen diffrent units tops, their only really half an army still. Speaking of Imperial Guard, a friend of mien also highly anticipating this game (albiet he isnt a common viewer of boards), said the one army he would utterly love to see in this would be the Imps, purely for their tanks and mass infantry power, I dont know about the rest of you, but I would REALLY love to see an Earthshaker blasting holes in an Ork army, or a Lemun Russ Demolisher squishing eldar to the might of its demoliser cannon, or some Hellhounds burning ranks of Grots...... definately some entertainment value there :) However, given a choice between the Bugs and the Imps, I would far rather see some proper purely biological army of death machines charging towards a front line of Space Marines, as their power armour just crumbles to the might of the bugs as a carnifex impales a marine and cuts the rest of his squad to bits with a hive tyrant backing him up and a biovore giving some heavy spores of doom............. Bugs! I want bugs! :)

You'd have to have Tyranids, especially the smaller ones, operating as single entities rather than a group of individuals, and a load of little interlinked factors affecting morale. If the local synapse creature died, would you lose control of the swarms unless they came within range of another, or would they be slower, or more cowardly? The swarms would have to be fast, nasty in close combat, but really flimsy...

There's a lot more to think about really than the existing armies...

Barbed Stranglers :) I have a hard time imagining these weapons.

Hmm that was a very odd shift in opinion on that pole-pity the nids would have been excellent. For pure starship troopers value id like to see the Guard thrown in aswell-messy!Those two races should definitely be put in but no the Necrons-bah!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,111 ✭✭✭tba

the nids and the guard probably have to many units for the game engine to handle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

That necron thing is bull****. Pure conspiracy.

Kold, Barbed Stranglers would by sending out a rapidly growing parasite which grows large tentacles with barbs on them, and basically strangles people with a mass of living barbed wire, hench the name, cant be too hard to imagine I thought :)
