    TEMPLE BAR OPENS UP!
    A cultural open day - Sunday July 18, 1pm-6pm

    A COLLECTIVE EVENT BY MORE THAN 40 ARTS ORGANISATION IN DUBLIN'S CULTURAL
    QUARTER

    Sunday July 18 is the date for the second cultural open day in Dublin's Temple
    Bar area, giving
    audiences of all ages an unmissable opportunity to come to Temple Bar and see
    what really goes
    on in the area.

    Over 40 cultural organisations based in Temple Bar have come together to bring
    their work to the
    streets and public spaces of Temple Bar in a day of performances, readings,
    concerts, exhibitions
    and tours. Many of the cultural organisations will also be opening their doors
    so you can experience
    the wealth of cultural activity happening in your very own city centre.

    Highlights of the day include the following:
    For the kids: Come along to enjoy a whole series of family-oriented activities
    on Meeting House Square
    including 'Kids call the shots', a free photographic workshop for children; an
    interactive percussion
    workshop and a performance of Chinese traditional music by the China
    Conservatory of Music.

    For the grown-ups: From mid afternoon the Meeting House Square stage will
    showcase an eclectic
    music programme featuring jazz, rock and electro-acoustic sounds - Ten-piece
    jazz collective Fuzzy
    Logic, contemporary Irish composer Fergal Dowling, and young rock bands from
    the TBMC's Noise
    Party.

    There are plays, exhibitions, open rehearsals, readings, dance performances,
    film screenings and more
    at numerous venues throughout the area: Cultivate Sustainable Living Centre and
    Genesis project are
    presenting a day of activities based on the theme of movement and mobility, and
    you can even do a
    workshop to write, direct, act and shoot your own movie scene! Definitely
    something for everyone,
    young and old, so get down to Temple Bar on July 18th for a truly cultural day.
