Splitting Cable inhouse

I've got the NTL Analogue Basic package at home. Current I have it split 4 ways via a 2 way splitter & Labgear UHF/VHF Booster. This is my set-up. Of the main cable in living room I have a two way splitter with one lead to the tv in the living room and one lead going to the Labgear UHF/VHF Booster about 12 feet away. Then from the booster I have 3 outlets to the other tvs. I have two problems. I find that the tv in the living room interferes with C4, E4 & Discovery when it's on (vertical line running slowly across the picture of affected channels) with the other tvs. Also I notice on the 3 philips tvs there is like a mottling effect where the picture is not fully clear but on our Sony tv it's fine. Two Q's :

1] Can anyone suggest a better way to send signal to the 3 remote tvs away from the initial cable point.
2] I was told by an NTL engineer that the less clear philips picture was due to a small DC current on the cable .. is there a way to get rid of this ?

I've attached a quick diagram of the set-up.

    Thanks in Advance ...
