    164 km David Moncoutie (Cofidis) wins the stage. Juan Antonio Flecha (Fassa Bortolo) is second, Egoi Martinez (Euskaltel) third. Thor Hushovd (Credit Agricole) wins the peloton's sprint ahead of Erik Zabel (T-Mobile) and Robbie McEwen (Lotto-Domo), who retains his green jersey.

    159 km Five kilometers to go. Martinez and Flecha have given up the chase.
    157 km Moncoutie is going to win the stage.
    155 km Flecha attacks, but he is caught and Moncoutie counter attacks.
    154 km 10 kilometers to go. The three escapees are still together.
    148 km The three leaders are at the summit of the final climb, Cote de Bagnac. Moncoutie takes the mountain sprint.
    144 km 20 kilometers to go.
    140 km David Moncoutie takes the final intermediate sprint with 25 kilometers to go.

    129 km Magnus Bäckstedt (Alessio-Bianchi) abandons the race.

    77 km The leaders now have more than six minutes on the peloton.
    73 km The leaders increase their advantage on the peloton.
    62 km David Moncoutie won the third mountainsprint ahead of Martinez and Flecha.
    58 km Today's break away has been established. Flecha has bridged up to Martinez and Moncoutie, and none of these riders pose any threat to Thomas Voeckler's Brioches La Boulangére team, which leads the peloton.
    53 km Egoi Martinez and David Moncoutie try to escape on the descent. Juan Antonio Flecha tries to bridge up.
    50 km Virenque won today's second mountain sprint ahead of Moreau, Martinez and Bartoli.
    49 km The peloton is all together. We await the results of the second mountain sprint.
    48 km Andreas Klöden of T-Mobile has joined the leaders. This means they probably wont get away, as Klöden sits in 13th overall.
    46 km Voigt and Davis have bridged up to the leaders.
    43 km Jens Voigt and Allan Davis try to bridge up to the four leaders.
    41 km A group with, among others, Michael Rogers, has escaped.
    40 km The riders approach the second climb of today, Cote de Therondels (category-3), which they hit after 45 kilometers.
    35 km A rider from Euskaltel attempts to get away, but he is caught immediately.
    33 km The new Voigt-group is also caught by the US Postal led peloton.
    25 km The peloton is all together again.
    23 km The Jens Voigt-group has been caught by the peloton, but Voigt tries again and Flecha joins him once again.
    20 km A new break away attempt, among others, Jens Voigt and Juan Antonio Flecha. At the back of the peloton, Robbie McEwen is in trouble, but he is back in the peloton.
    19 km The peloton has regrouped. At the back of the peloton, Gerrit Glomser of Saeco is having trouble.
    15 km Jakob Piil and Garcia Acosta try to escape, but they are caught, as the two pelotons are just about to regroup.
    13 km The peloton has split into two groups. The yellow jersey, Thomas Voeckler, is in the second peloton.
    10 km The five escapees have been caught, but three new riders are on the attack, just to bee reeled in by the peloton.
    7 km The peloton passes today's first categorized climb. We await the results of the mountain sprint.
    5 km Team CSC's Jens Voigt and two other riders tried to escape, but they were quickly reeled in by the peloton.
    3 km The peloton is all together on the first climb.
    1 km The riders have started today's stage, where the first mountain sprint is already at 6.5 kilometers.
    0 km The forecast is for sunny conditions for the entire day, and around 30 degrees celcius. There is virtually no breeze.
