NTL and Macs

    I am living in hope that they end up in my area soon.

    However, they must be joking with their mac requirements:

    If you have an Apple Macintosh®, then you need:

    Mac OS 8.5 to 9.0 (includes iMac)
    PowerPC
    32MB RAM (40MB or more recommended)

    That has to be a joke. Apparently you need to use IE or Netscape as well.

    Don't worry, I've had ntl broadband for about a year now on my mac. There's no real set up required. They install the modem, an ethernet wire connects your mac to the modem. all done. os x handles the rest. you can use any software.

    NTL has announced it is upgrading the network and hopes to have all of its customers broadband enabled by the end of 2006. That includes homes in Galway and Waterford. The target for the end of this year is 100,000 homes. That's 1/4 of its current installed userbase. The current number of broadband enabled homes is 29,000.
