shoe DIY

    im just wondering how i would go about dyeing a pair of shoes , there old but only been wron a couple of times and i need a new pink pair so i want to dye them to save me some money ,
    any idea what i need to use or where to get it ?
    there sandles i was just thinking about trying to get a permanent pink marker and colour them in because there silver , any ideas?

    Probably best to visit your local cobbler and ask their advice. What material is it? If there's already paint on them (as you suggest) you could probably just spray paint them with whatever colour you choose. Just selotape over the bits you don't want sprayed and work away. Not sure if there are health issues associated but I guess you're only talking about the outter visible parts. Not sure what the water-proof issues would be either.

    yea im not sure of the material , jesus yea i never thought of the waterproof issue.

    If you spraypaint them,the paint will more then likely flake off.

    if theyre fake leather, a pink marker will probably rub off, and turn them a horrible dull colour.


    if theyre real leather, pink dye is incredibly hard to find.

    I've only ever used their clothes dyes, but Dylon do shoe/accessories dye in pink. It's usually stocked in fabric shops like Hickeys and some supermarkets.
