while channel surfing on sky, i saw this UK ad where these guys are in a pub drinking at a table and they start eyeing up a lady and she walks over a split second it appears like they crash and knock her down. But they are still sitting in the pub.

You really have to see it.

its quite shocking for an ad as it happens so quick.

Only managed to see it once but it's class. It's a shock all right when it first happens and I didn't know wether to laugh or be shocked. Makes a difference from the usual drink driving ads.

    thats good.

I don't drink myself, but I can't see how anyone would risk it. How could you be so dumb! Anyway, does 1 drink really make a difference(as in, they aint exactly drinking to get drunk, so why bother at all??) why cant they just have a nice glass of fruit juice!

    you got any links.

I do remenber one from aussie land. It was on the news and it was a small car which didnt stop at a stop sign, this 18 wheeler came out of nowhere and the car seemed to disappear. It happened so quick. The camera angle was so narrow the side the truck came from that, it seemed to come no where.

No, sorry - I saw them on Tarrent on TV.

One showed the week before Christmas. A family shopping and getting things ready - young kids and the wife is pregnant also. Anyway, the father ends up being killed in a car crash, and the week still continues to Christmas day, when the kids come into the mother, who tries to put a brave face on it so as not to upset the kids etc. From the start of the ad, there's an eerie song sung by a little girl, just makes it a lot sadder. The Aussie ads always end in "If you drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot".

I also saw a Japanese ad on Tarrent also. A grandmother and a young girl, about 15 maybe walking in town. The girl leaves the grandmother at a pedestrian crossing and says something like "see you in a few minutes". The grandmother steps onto the road and a car flies in and sends her straight up out of the picture - one of the on lookers says "I think someone was hit!" and you see the girl coming back and says "grandma?"

Some of those recent Irish ads won awards and some thought they were shocking by Australian standards.
