Go with the CRT unless you get a tft monitor with a 16ms Response Time, I think that you would need it for games!

Is the smaller footprint of the TFT of any benefit to you?

If you want to use if for watching DVDs and stuff, why not go one better and buy the same TFT with a TV tuner in it?

laptop already has a tv tuner in it, which would be on the desk beside this beast........... and i can cope with the footprint of a 21".....

so i'll get the 21" anyway from reading your replies, thanks.

ok since this is a monitors thread, thought i would ask a question about tft's

i'm looking for a tft monitor (possibly widescreen tft) that i can use for
    1)web-browsing
    2)Gaming
    3)web-development

looking for a monitor with good resolution and response, if anyone knows of a good one

    17"(widescreen) or 19"
    any ideas?

i have been looking at the philips 19" monitor
