The iTunes store has opened in the UK, France and Germany - anyone know any plans for it opening here too?

Great prices in the German/French stores - €0.99 per song or €9.99 per album!

well it's better than going down to hmv, golden discs, virgin etc and buying the same album for 15-20 euros

where it will only cost you €9.99 on iTunes

    Hmm...

Its a great idea for individual songs.

I dunno if i'd buy an Album though.I'd Rather pay the extra €4 or so to get the CD complete with artwork etc..

If they supplied high quality artwork it'd be a better deal. Supply a PDF with the artwork with purchase of full albums, then it becomes a bit of a better deal.

The operative word there is "extortionate".

Definition: [adj] greatly exceeding bounds of reason or moderation

Nobody cares that they make a profit, a lot of people care that they charge more for CD's in Euroupe because they reckon we will pay more. They charge less in other areas (Asia) because they wont pay more form them.

    Eh.....

Do you think that people in Asia, could afford the european prices? Labour is cheap, Wages are low

Do you think Euopean workers would work for the same wages as say someone in Asia? Hence the price increse.

but they also try to block people using this to their advantage, such as their attempts to stop CD Wow selling CD's to Ireland and the UK, as CD Wow were buying them at hong kong prices and selling them on to us in Europe at less-than-extortionate prices.

    **** them

**** them in their stupid asses.

A favorite quote comes to mind here:

"Do you listen to your self talk or do you find your self drifting in and out?"

    -- Dr. P. Cox

Charging people more because they can afford it is hardly sound busniess practice...

If we follow this line of thought every product and service shound be means tested and I should now be able to afford that BMW M3 iv always wanted...

It's done by all the global corps - a bottle of coke is 10c in India or something like that. They do market research and find out how much people can afford. Where they make losses in one country, they make gains in another. It's the way it is - I'm not saying it's right, but it's the way it is.

Didnt say it wasn't done, just that its not sound busniess practice. We are moving towards a global market where I will be able to buy Coke from india over the Internet and have it shiped to me for less then buying it locally and I will coz its cheaper. They cannt keep that fact they they are pricing their products at diferant markets instead of giving everone a decent price.

Ill buy my CD's and DVD's from the cheapest retailer or better still download them. If I cannt buy them for download ill download pirates of equal quality and give 2 fingers to the industry. Im not going to be told where and when and how much I can buy things for I want to be able to what I want with my cash. The big indstry have loast sight of the fact that they are rich off the backs of their customers and their customers are no longer at the center of their busniess. Its time to grow up and move on.

Drugs is an international industry, and it makes a profit, does that make it justifiable

The music industry is out of control, why do I have to €14 to these corporate whores, to listen to a band I like, while the band gets €1 if they are lucky
