Seems you just can't shake it off (to coin a phrase) . Irish persons reporting to the clinic with syphilis are 80 % likely to have a variety that is not treatable with antibiotics. It made the first page of the Irish Times today.

What do they treat it with ? Cauterisation maybe.

How long before it goes tertiary ?

The thing with that sort of syphilis is that when an infected mother gives birth a baby it can be born with all sorts of deformities . . .

    Treatment, cauterisation, more like castration.

It is misrepresentative, somewhat disingenuous, and not a little sensationalist, to report the 80% statistic without reporting the qualifiers related in the article. A mutant syphillis yes, but they do report the significance of the 88% statistic in the context of the MSM population.

Dublin simply ain't the place to catch galloping knobrot. You are far better off catchig it in San Francisco. CNN has the story
Here . I note the CDC is taking some action on the matter in the US ....eve if tha tplan amounts to a comprehensive survey to find out how bad the situation is.

Syphilis has mutated extensively in very short timescales ....... historically.

Ditto Mr Rogers. The land of make believe? All a syphillis induced fantasy.

http://www.skfriends.com/did-columbus-bring-syphylis-to-europe.htm looks like the captain of the Pinta was not to blame (maybe.)

by some accounts up to 1/4 of the population of europe were wiped out by it back in the fifteenth century

the horrible thing is you could have it for a long time before you realise it......so many ''things'' passing around between people these days..its like that freaky ad with the dettol where they show how the germs spread about as fluorescent pink spots...but at the same time we are becoming clean freaks..probably why everyone gets sick so easily--colds flu and the like...if i drop something on the floor in my kitchen ill pick it up,wash it and eat it no bother...
