I need to get a domain name and host for my website:

    homepage.eircom.net/~eoinpage/omnicorp.html

As I am too young to work, I would prefer if it were under €40.

    have a look at www.nearlyfreespeech.net

I used to host 2 websites there till i got a virtual server. You deposit a sum of money and they charge you $0.01/MB/Month for hosting it, and 1$ a gig transfer.

The cool thing is if its a small low bandwidth site you can stick a tenner in and it'll last months and months.

They don't provide domains, you can get a .com from 000domains.com for about 14$ a year I think.

They can provide dns servers for 1c a day, but there are free ones out there. I use zoneedit.com which is free and pretty powerful.

So if you have 25 dollars you can register a domain, use zoneedit.com to provide dns for it, and have 11 dollars left over to pay for space and network transfer from nearlyfreespeech.net .

Which would last months for my 2 sites, but i'd imagine would be about 2 nano-seconds for boards.ie

    Greg

GoDaddy - cheapest domains I've come across - .com/.net/.org for $8.95, .info for $6.95, .biz/.us for $4.95. Just say no to all the extras they try to sell you.

I am using Hosting365 for www.irishdirectory365.com but that cost €136 for a year inc. domain.
    It came with 100 emails.
    250mb's
    3gb Data Transfer
    and other stuff.
    was it worth it?
