i got a strap in waltons a year or two ago,, its huge!! red and black leather and its nice and comfy.. but it does add quite a bit of weight and takes some gettin used to!! plus its expensive! cost about £70 back then.. but it will definitely last for years and years!!

Levy Straps, the leather ones. About €80 but they seem to be worth it. They have them in Music Makers or whatever that shop is called. GO FORTH AND TRY!

They do a great leather one in Musician, costs about €50 I think. Had one for years for my brother's bass. It kicks the crap out of any other strap I've ever used. There's no name on it though, so I can't tell you more than that.

Levy make some great straps alright, I've one on my Virgin, and it's just the funk.
I've a cheap fender one too on the other guitar, that seems to hold up ok.

I've seen people's fender strap split on their guitars and result in serious headstock and body damage.

i use a wide length of canvas held on with two rubber washer-type things from the lids of grolsch bottles. works a charm.

Fender gave me strap locks with my guitar. They are a great invention. Shouldn't matter what strap you have if u got locks.

I have a leather strap i got for 50 dollars in america but god that sun bitch is heavy with my les paul. On the strat its alright.

Ah, but it does matter! Straps can have different grip. Some people like a strap that lets you slide your guitar around, some people prefer a strap that would allow you to let go of your guitar without the headstock sliding into the ground. Those locks are great though.

a good quality strap of your choice and a set of Schecter (my personal choice) or Jim Dunlop Strap Locks are a MUST!

I got a nice Levy strap for about €30 in Music Maker. It's leather but not padded. It's got a suede type finish so it doesn't move once you put it on, I like that secure feeling. Plus it's quite wide so it spreads the weight of the guitar over a wider area which leaves you with less physiotherapy bills. I got strap locks with my guitar and I swear by them.

Now I just need to buy a strap for my bass, I've got a nylon one now and I can't keep it at a set length, the weight of the bass and the slippiness of nylon means that the buckle slowly moves down and before I know it, I'm playing at my knees! And funnily enough, my bass weighs less than my guitar.

These are the only straps worth talking about in my opinion. The rest are ok, don't get me wrong, but these are the best.

Pricey but deffinately worth it, Levy's etc. are very over priced in comparison to these.

I like the plain ones the best.
