Anyone think WWE should quit their politicised approach to story lines example...Nikolai Olkov (spelled wrong, still a legend) in the old days and La Resistance today

I personally like it, its good you like to hate the heels but still end up liking them because of it...Dupreé's dance, genius. Plus I liked the old way of just calling the people in the town stupid, fat etc. I remeber when Raw went to Memphis years ago and for Lawler to get heat he had to absolutely demolish the people calling them inbreds etc. and they still just laughed at it and cheered him

I like the way heels mock the local team etc to get heat, it cannot be cut out, its an integral part of Wrestling. In fact, at the ToD in the Point i was dissapointed no one cut an anti irish promo, esp Orton, as he got quite a few face reactions. Had he cut an anti ireland promo, he would have got heel heat.

However, the Le Resistance type angle, IMO, is old and wasted. In fact, its only because Grenier, Conway, and Dupree are all supremely talented that it is even slightly working. The whole Canada/France Vs USA at this point is old and boring.

Another type to look at here, is that in the early 90s, around the time of the major middle east conflicts, where Sgt Slaughter 'turned his back on America' and joined forces with the Iraqi Iron Sheikh, Wrestlemania that year had to be moved from an outdoor arena for fear of a sniper. In that way, it was gone too far.

Another aspect which WWE has been doing for the last few times, is getting behind the Presidential election - Smackdown Your Vote, which is a good idea.

I dont think that type of angle is what the WWE should have if they want to make it bigger internationaly. Its all well and good to diss french people at a show in texas but europeans might not be so approving.
