First off let me say I've collected Eldar for long enough and the only real problem I have with them is probably their biggest advantage, "Mind War". The fact that a farseer can pick out any ememy (even those in a group) and take anything in the range of 6 wounds off without armour saves of any kind. This makes killing even the nastiest Necron c'tan god a breeze with just one lucky roll. All this at the cost of only 15pts is pretty good. The only downside is that you need a prefect line of sight and it does't work against someone if in any tank (even open-topped).

Does onyone else think it's just that little bit too good?

You do need a pretty good roll to beat the larger charecters to be fair, and if u fail you just wasted your farseers turn really, so no I wouldnt really rate it too highly, good charecter killer but thats about it.

I can see both points and I think if it was treated as a heavy weapon it might work better i.e. no moving and using it.

If you know your Necrontyr Vs. Eldar background, you'll know that psykers are anathema to the Necrontyr, thus I find it quite in character that a farseer could pick off a C'tan in such fashion.

Bearing in mind that the Eldar psychic powers (which gave them their "umphh" factor) were crippled in 3rd ed, they lack the level of survivability & punch of the likes of the Marine armies and that the C'tan are very, very nasty.

Mind war has a 12" range... It HAS to be an assault move, otherwise a farseer would become a suicide bomber, using his move once and then being blasted off the face of the battlefield.
