    Location: Dublin

Position: Work within the technology sector

    Qualification: Student Electronic Engineer.

Travel: Within an hour of Dublin

Details: Due to disappointing results I will be repeating the final year of my degree. I'm looking for a position which would hopefully lend itself to part-time work during the college year, though not necessarily.
Work within the technology sector would best suit as I have a strong knowledge in this area. Also I have some programming skills (Java mainly) and I am willing to learn anything new.

    Hi Raz,

If your looking for temporary work you could try sending your CV into CPL Resources www.cpl.ie - Several major technology companies in Ireland use them and several many people I know found both temporary and full time positions with their help.
Also check out nixers.com for temporary employment listings. Hope that helps

I just came across this that might be of interest to you as your in final year:

    http://www.gradireland.com/vacancies/template.asp?ID=2301

    2. Economics
    3. Psychology
    4. Accounting and Finance
    5. Sociology
    6. Business Mathematics
    7. Computing and Engineering.

These positions will be filled on a part-time temporary basis.

    Essential
Applicants must hold a relevant Degree in the discipline or with one of the above subjects assessed as part of the Final Year of Degree.

Intel hire Graduates, not people who've failed the year. Likewise I'd assume (it's in the job spec) that ITB would also have a requirement for someone who has been conferred with a degree.

If it makes you feel any better I know a couple of people who failed their final Eng year and still got jobs in the sector that year. Both of them went back and passed the degree the following Summer and are employed in decent jobs.

    Cheers ei4ix.
I'm not too sure of the gradireland position you posted, though if I repeat externally then it's a definite option. I'll have to see what's available to me from the college. The deadline for that one is the 16th so I've a bit of time.
I'll have a look into cpl aswell. Any reports on how they were to work with?

With intel, what are the transport options? Do they run a shuttle bus from Dublin? I'll be using public transport so it's an important issue for me.
