hey i hope this doesnt already have a threads on it ,if so apologies. i was in germany and got the new marilyn manson album on the cheap...was wondering what anyone else thought about it?.i got it on the strength of ''this is the new $hit'', which i think is class.feck i didnt think he could get more angrier and caustic, there are some really ingenious lyrics and i like the burlesque vibe going on.....but everyone seems to be leaving the band...

He's just done anything great since Antichrist Superstar tbh.

I've no time for him now.

yeah i have to admit its not as strong as that album....even though holywood was quite good...no.18 is my favourite....(on holywood)..and disposable teens...anything that is done with trent reznor is goood.

    Im a big Manson fan.

The Grotesque album isn't that great i much prefer Holy Wood and alot os songs from his other albums.

im not sure why every1 is leaving all i know is that twigy left dunno why though

AFAIK Tim Skold left too. And I heard rumours that John5 did too.

Honestly, Portrait Of an American Family up to and including Mechanical Animals were genius. Was listening from the Portrait/Smells era, but Holywood just left me appauled. Terrible album. And from what I heard of GAOTG it wasn't any better!

I think he just left cos he wasn't enjoying it anymore. I suppose the opportunity to play in possibly the best band in the world (A Perfect Circle) would have tempted him (although I don't know if he was intending to join them before he left Manson?).

Anyway, he's probably better off now.

Don't like Manson's new stuff, not very good at all.

i heard that tim skold was saying that he is (mm) becoming a bit me me me.....he is a bit self-important but that was obvious from the start anyway..when people know they are talented they tend not to hide it.i still havent been able to get my hands on that film with macaulay culkin playing that infamous killer-guy...i think its called party monster..mm plays some madame in it..anyone seen it at all? is it on dvd or what?
he is also going to be in a film by asia argento called the heart is deceitful above all things (with no make up...should be entertaining)

The Reverend Manson has always been very "me, me, me". The more famous / popular he became the more its started to get to other people. Trent Reznor got sick of him over it. Trent made him big, and Marilyn wanted "more more more". TGAOG is his worst album to date, has a few minor hits, but Antichrist Superstar was his best album by a long shot.

Twiggy was asked to leave, as was John5. I didn't know Skoldy left but I'm not surprised. Mazza is too concerned about getting a film career and touring his artwork at the moment.

One of the things that impresses me most about the Archdandy is teh quality and thought put into his covers and remixes - Sweet Dreams, Iron Man, I Only Want to Be With You, Golden Years, Transylvanian Concubine, Diamonds and Pollen, Tainted Love, etc. - all IMHO as good as (if not better) than the originals. (Like A Virgin left out for very good reason)

Haven't gotten around to getting GAOTG yet, but i'm sure i'll get around to it eventually. I've always considered Antichrist Superstar to be their worst album, while mechanical animals is definitely their best work.

Party Monster is out on DVD since last month afaik, and Manson also has a cameo role in film called Jawbreaker from a few years ago.
