    1) Yes, T-Shirts Hoddies etc... I assume with the Oxegen Logo on them. Might also be band merchindise, can't remember.

    2) The Stone Roses are playing a set in the camp site on Friday night, if your into that sort of thing.

    3) A cooler? Maybe bring those cooler bags you get in supermarkets instead of the box coolers. Remember your not allowed bring beer out of campsite so that'll make it easier.

    4) Food that doesn't melt / go bad. Bring some shit for sandwichs maybe? I found the food at the stalls last year edible.

    ..barely and expensive.

Im bringing some pot noodles and stuff like that to eat back at my car, where ill have a gas stove thingy. So if your dieing with the hunger look out for me! :p Very broke so cant be going into Nass getting food. Bring crisps & bread, cnat beat an ol crisp sandwich or two :D

My beer stayed relatively cool last year in my tent, failing that, bring a small bucket and get a bucket of water to put your cans in.

Enjoy the camping and the concert.

not sure but put the cans under the tent and it might help cos its touching the ground and also the inside of the tent gets really warm during the day so its better not to have the cans in there.

my buds have a good idea just bring loads off wine (wine is quite strange) but it gets u so drunk in like 5 mins of drinking some so im going too fill a few water bottles and bring that because u dont need too keep that cool. :)
Beer is absolutly rotten if it gets warm. :(

also those hoddies are they going to be good quilty and sizes ?

one essential is a lock 4 your tent, doesnt have to be huge but your beer will stay pretty cold in there at night, day time... im not so sure

food wise bring a loaf f bread and tons of packet of king, a good ol crisp sandwhich cant be beaten when your hungover
    have fun!

the weather is supposed to be ok, not as good as last year.

a bit of rain on friday morning/afternoon, but saturday is supposed to be dry with some good sunny spells. sunday morning is a bit wetter and with spells of rain throughout the day.

check www.met.ie in a day or so and it'll be more accurate.

A lock on your tent is pointless.

Tents are canvas, anyone with a penknife, scissors or even a sharp fingernail can just rip into it, no problems. Putting a lock on the thing just signals to would-be thiefs that there may be something valuable inside.

    I strongly advise against it.

    tibor, i disagree

people who go out to rob are going to rob the easiest things accessible

no doubt some people will leave tents open and the sight of 1 or two people heading into an open tent (or even a half open tent) isn't going to raise any eyebrows

but the sight of people heading over to a tent that is no doubt locked and whipping out their wolverine nails or penknife, slicing the tent, and rummaging around inside probably would be more suspicious

    i'm gona lock my tent

    I disagree also

u wouldnt take notice someone going throw tent by opening the zipper but if u saw some riping it with a nice ud see it and tell a gard or someone ! :dunno:

Most tents have some kind of porch thing or an overhang by the door which obscures view and makes it very easy for someone to duck in and cut around the door discretely. To anyone except those within a few feet it'll just look like they're opening the zips.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 630 ✭✭✭LastIrishMonkey

ow by all meants try and sneek some bottles but i was just saying i thought we were talking about plastic bottles :D

well enjoy yourself sunnyjim m8 ! :D and everyone who replied too my post and everyone whos going didnt make it too 10 question but Woooohoooo fun fun fun !

im also doing my packing now ! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,807 ✭✭✭chump

    hello tibor

a lot of tents have a porch area, like mine, which has a seperate zip which can also be locked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 907 ✭✭✭tibor

heh. Have you got a chain lock for each of your pins and guy ropes too? ;)

By your analysis of the criminal mind banks would never get robbed because they have big locks, safes and lots of security.....

Anywho, playing by averages, the likelyhood is your tent won't be touched, unless it's a drunk thinking it's their own. Enjoy the w/end. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,807 ✭✭✭chump

tibor, i'm not worried about people robbing a few pins from my tent (or infact anything inside my tent ... except my beer)... but your immediate post was suggesting it is a bad idea to lock ones tent, i disagreed... i didn't analyse anything

i'd imagine that if i somehow managed to muster up irrefutable evidence that locking a tent is a good idea, you'd still blow it off as nonsense

i'm not even going to bother tear apart your bank-robbing analogy

Was your analysis, which I believe to be mistaken.
People rob things that are valuable.

Burglars, for example, break into a house, they don't just pick up a pile of jumpers and dirty laundry they see because it's easily accessible, they look for the jewellery, expensive hifi equipment, and any cash, because it's worth something.

Bart: Dad, you really want to get rid of this trampoline?
    Homer: Uh huh.
    Bart: Observe: a bike lock.
[je locks the trampoline to a post]
Now just turn around, and count to three: one, two, three --
[they turn around to see Snake with a pair of wire cutters]
    Uh, better make it five.
Snake: All right! I got me a bed.
    -- 1,001 uses, "Bart's Inner Child"

I still maintain, a lock on a tent merely acts as an incentive for someone to break into it, and doesn't provide any real
    security.

If it gives you peace of mind, fair enough, can't argue with that, but a real thief deterrent it isn't.
