Is €300 a good price for a good second hand 24inch crt?
Im getting them off a design firm who are getting new stuff in.
Not sure what brand or how old but the res is very good

Well about 2 years ago myself and my bro managed to pick up 2 21" CRT Samsung syncmaster 1000p's for 75E per monitor under similar circumstances so,
it's ok but I think it's a bit steep personally...

If you really want one keep looking and you're bound to stumble onto a better deal :)

How odd, Im selling a 24" CRT at the moment.
    http://82.195.131.128/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=171312

My one is a Sony W900, and Widescreen. A fullscreen 24" would be rather chunky and monsterious. 21" ar cheaper as they are standard, off the shelf, commonplace monitors. Anything above that size costs an order of magnitude more.

It has 1 BNC and DSUB (standard VGA) connections. You can see before you buy too.

    Interested?

Yeah, I know it commands more money alright. Just saying that if you dig around enough and contact enough people you can find them pretty cheap but it takes a lot of groundwork. Getting these two was an incredible bargain for that price at the time and credit to samba for doin the diggin.
I would consider if it did 1600x1200 @100-120Hz

Design places are your best bet, specifically: ones that are gone or are going bust. Not nice for them but good if you're looking for a big monitor. You'll find some of them are desperate to get rid of the stuff ASAP so you will need to jump on it if you can find them and make sure you get to have a look at it, we even had ours delivered to us for a test before we purchased.

Mine only goes 1600x1200@75Hz, looking for 120 ideally myself for when the 6800U gets here upon return from the holidays.

    Samba? Dutchboy posted this?

The one Im selling does 1600x900@100Hz and 1920x1080@85hz. Do you really need above 85(or 100!!?)Hz support? (It does 1280x768@140Hz BTW). Besides, what has a 6800 got to do with refresh rate?

Surely the highest res possible is more attractive than the highest refresh, as long of course as the refresh is 85Hz or over? 1920x1080 looks really, really good..

I do know that these monitors i am interested in go up to 2048 x 1536 or something like that its in the 2000's anyway.
But i'm not sure about the refresh rate though
What would be a more resonable price then?
The person has a few of them, me and my bro where thinkin of gettin one each if anyone is interested i could get one for them if they like.
i prob could pull the price down a bit

120Hz syncs nicely with the mouse with v-sync disabled for games.
When I referred to Samba I was referring to the 2x21" monitor's we picked up for 75E a piece thanks to his digging.

What has a 6800 got to do with refresh rate? That's what I'll be putting in my system and I'd like some nice support for it from my next monitor. I thought that was obvious?

Actually I was referring to the fact any halfway decent gfx card will complement 120Hz, it wasnt immediately obvious why you picked a 6800 in particular..
