    theres rumblings again about water privitisation, well mainly from that ersi report.

    one of their main arguements is that you would pay more attention to how much water if you had to pay for it therefore reducing waste( and hence saving the environment :) yeah right)

    are there water monitors you can get? i'd say if you put in a monitor that simple told you how much water you used, not just a way to get money you would pay more attention to how much you use ?

    three problems
    with water meters.
    a) the cost of installing them - what is the break even time ?
    b) in the UK pre pay meters mean people get theri water cut off if they can't afford to pay - human rights and all that.
    c) political landmine - look at removal of rates and dundalk protests.

    since most of the water leaks from the pipes - there should be no metering until the vast majority of pipes have been relined.

    At present they have meters at street(?) level so could target waters that way,
