Print Error

I hope someone can help with this as it is driving me crazy.

I have a new Xerox 8400N which I networked successfully. Within a day of installing the printer onto all the PCs in the Office (Windows 2000 Pro) it stopped printing. I tried upgraded the Xerox drivers, uninstalling the drivers (went into registry and deleted all references to the printer also) and reinstalling them to no avail so I went into the Event Log.
The following error was logged: "Event ID: 61 - The document Test Page owened by <username> failed to print. Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 3003 (0xbbb)."
I search the internet and Microsoft's knowledge base and was advised that it was a prob. with Service pack 4 and to contact Microsoft for the hotfix at a cost.
So I decided, on the advise of a Xerox Engineer, that I would try and downgrade to Service Pack 3. When I did this I then recieved a different error which was ineffect fixed by Service pack 4.
I reinstalled service pack 4 and rang Microsoft to get the hotfix. I received the hotfix and installed it on my machine, rebooted and tried to print again. Still unable to print.

Before everyone tells me to install Linux etc. I cannot due to the software programs that I use for work which are programmed to be used on Windows 2000 and previous Windows O/S only.

Please I really need some help with this as I have tried everything suggested on the web and nothing has worked. Any help that you can provide is very much appreciated as I have hit a brick wall.

Send it back to Xerox. Sounds defective to me.

also try removing the network part for a while ,

Hook the machine up to your local computer , get the printing going ,

then either share it as a device from your machine or get it back up as an autonomous device on the network again .

this will help diagnose where the error is coming from , removing the networky part should help.

Does it happen with all users or just one?
Is t reachable when error appears check via ping.
Connect it local to Workstation- Use Crosscable
Reinstall the driver send print job

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I am very grateful.

Mac daddy - it happens with all the PCs connected to it which made me believe there was a prob with the printer itself rather than a Windows prob but Xerox believe it is defo a Microsoft prob.

Fionn101 - I'm going to connect one of our laptops (which is connected to it via the network but can't print to it) via parallel cable and test it to see if it prints.

On Monday I plan to reset the printer to its default settings and uninstall all the drivers from all the PC's and start from scratch again.

I think it could be the network card, hopefully Monday will prob this all going well.

I'll let you guys know what happens.
