Well, just another 3 months (well probably 2 or so) before the arrival of our twins! It will be our first kids and we know it's going to be a daunting task...

Anyone any tips or experiences with twins?

    1. Hold on tight. Everything is about to go blurry

    2. Hide any spare cash where you can't get it for 12 months or it will be spent on expensive plastic stuff that never gets used.

    3. Keep an eye on this rollercoaster
    4. Get two clip-boards, one for each baby - stick them in your kitchen and keep notes on feeding, sleeping and any medicines - this way its easy to monitor patterns and ensure you don't feed one of them twice...

    5. Start saving for a people-carrier

Hows that for a start? You'll be fine - your life will never be the same but it'll all work out...

Ours are 11 months old now - our first as well. In some ways it's harder - twice the work, double the nappies, etc. In other ways, as they get a little older, it's getting easier. They play with each other now so you don't have to watch them every minute (except when they decide to play chasing down the hall :D ).

Look out for the deals/sales now - you'll need two of everything. We got our twin buggy in Roches or Arnotts - whichever one have a store in Artaine. It's a McLaren Twin Traveller - I'd recommend it. It folds away quite small and it's not too heavy either. Check out the summer sales for seats, cots, clothes etc. Smyth's toystore are great for stuff like this. They sell the end-of-line from Mamas & Papas and Mothercare fairly cheaply.

GET A DIGITAL CAMERA! Take hundreds of photos. In between sleepless nights and nappies you'll spend a lot of time laughing - they're great fun!

Only if you're planning more kids. It's luggage space you need not people space. They are people carriers not luggage carriers. Once the seats are in there is very little storage space.

We've been carrying our twins around for 11 months in a Rover 200. Way too small. The pram takes up most of the boot. If we're going away for a weekend with them the car is crammed. We're now looking at a Skoda Octavia. Plenty of boot space for the pram, travel cots, bags and our own luggage.

Look at your options. For two kids you'd be better off with a saloon like the Octavia imho. For more kids then a space wagon may be better.
