SODIMMs for iBook

Hi all,

Looking for expansion memory for a 300MHz G3 iBook - basic research indicates that it takes PC133 SODIMMs, and that it can handle 544M total.

Two questions: (1) will any ol' PC133 SODIMM work in there? and (2) it currently has 64M - does that imply that there's already a 32M expansion in there that I'll need to replace with a 512 to max it out?

I'm not 199% sure about this but I think the G3 333MHz iBook takes 66MHz SODIMMS which means it will accept anything from 66MHz upwards, including 100MHz and 133MHz.

Komplett will sell you some 100MHz SODIMMs at a reasonable price.

Try Crucial for memory,

According to there web site www.crucial.com/eu the iBook 300mhz can only be expanded to 288MB with standard memory being 32MB

Strange - everything I've read about 300MHz iBooks indicate that they have 32MB on board, expandable to 288 - but this one has 64 on board. I've ordered 256 for it (for a total of 320).

the G3 300's run a 66mhz bus. Chances are you will only see half the bank of a 133 module.

Im looking about 85e for the module. Let me know if you are interested.

I had a 366 ibook, with a 66bus that ran 256megs of 133mhz ram no probs.



got mine from shop4memory, jsut bog standard OEM stuff.
