Using windows 95 for networking and file storage. Not a good idea. Only osr2? supports fat-32 so if you are before that version, sunk, as fat-16 cannot support anything large files.

And a pc still running windows 95 is most likely to have a old mobo with old bios, thus you can't install anything bigger then 8gb? without updating.

Networking in windows 95 is like trying to get ferrets to sing. Possible but not wanted. Your best bet is to buy a cheap p3 pc or something along those lines and use that. As it will save you lots of work in the long run

You could just take out the hard drive and stick it into your Windows 98 computer... it'd probably be so small/slow/old that it wouldn't be very useful and it'd probably make more sense just to buy a new one. But if you're getting it for free, then there's no point in it going to waste.

Replace win95 with vector linux or slackware and use it as a file/print server. Or a firewall, or a thin client - endless possibilities :)

Windows98 would be fairly useless for video editing, given that it can't use very large files (>4GB afaik).

You can do an awful lot of great things with a pc as ancient as a Pentium 1, but video editing is not really one of them

If you're serious about video editing, you need to get yourself either a Pentium 4 or an Athlon 64 system. Large harddisk also useful :)
