This is a problem that has been plaguing me for months and i've just given up really.
The spec of my PC is

    1800+
    1024 Twinmos PC2100 Ram
    Geforce 4 Ti4400
    Abit AN7 Mobo
    plextor CD-Writer
    Pioneer DVD-Drive
    120GB Western Digital HDD
    120GB Seagate S-ATA HDD
    80Gb Western Digital HDD
    60GB Maxtor HDD
    350w PSU
    + 2 case fans and a CRT

the problem is that the fsb will not run at 133. Using the ABIT OC software i can go up to about a fsb 130 before the system hangs. I've tried everything. memtest says the ram is alright. I've tried running on the bare amount of hardware as in cpu,ram,gpu.1 HDD and 1 CD-ROM, even out of the box. still no luck. any thoughts?

Try upping the CPU voltage a little (mabye 1.7v) as the Abits usually under volt.

Pop the FSB straight up to 133mhz and see if that works. What brand PSU do you have? Where does it hand?

i cant remember what brand PSU it is(im in work at the mo). As far as i can remember it is a decent enought one not one of the **** q-tec ones anyway.
    Where does it hand?
    What does that mean?

Doh, that was ment to be where does it HANG (stupid cheap keyb).?

It looks like it might be PSU related if its at startup. Did you run prime95 at 130mhz FSB? What are your temps like?

i presume it doesn't have an FSB lock, does it? Sounds like a dodgy chip/motherboard (i think i told you that several weeks ago).

If it doesn't work straight at 133FSB, its RMA time.

it hangs when i up the fsb up to 133. The psu is fine. Dont tell me its another dodgy motherboard. I have already sent back an ABIT AN7 for the same reason. but when the new motherboard started to act up I thought it most be something else. Komplett wont be happy
