Very cool program. Basically allows you to access your gmail from any POP3 client (Outlook / Thunderbird).

cheers for the link hobbes -- works a treat on 2k pro here using OE.
Isn't there an option to uninstall SP1 with XP? I know there is with 2k pro/server/server 2k3. Then you can unininstall and have your testbed back with the fixes you'll be needing in the meantime such as that pop3 client.
If you are waiting for SP2, you may as well brave it with the beta :D

Because your machine is open to all kinds of crap and fixes bugs. You might have to install SP1 to install SP2.

Nor allow sending attachments that I can see. Heres a hint as to why though: its beta, ie. not finished or released to the general public.

When you get a mail with linked external images it doesn't display them because it could confirm your email address to a spammer.

But you can always click on the "Display External Images" link at the top of the mail.

It also does do attachments. See the "Attach a file" link when composing mail...?

Display External Images. i don't have this or i can't see it.

By the way the images are attached to the email i sent to the account so they aren't external but they still come up as broken images.

also "When you get a mail with linked external images it doesn't display them because it could confirm your email address to a spammer."

fair enought BUT, if something is in my inbox or the addresses are in my address book they should take it as a given that its not spam and display them as default, or give me the option to do so. Yes i know the address of the e-mail isn't 100% but for me out of the 1000's of spam email over the years i haven't gotten one from one of my friends e-mail.

Hmm maybe i am missing something but doesnt Outlook effectively download messages from the server to your disk before you can read them, which in effect makes Gmail's 1gb unneccessary unless your using webmail???
